CAS Accounting Specialist - Lead

Position SummaryThe individual in this position performs routine accounting activities such as payroll, general ledger posting, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports, and accounts payable and receivable functions.
He/she is familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
The CAS Accounting Specialist - Lead performs work at a higher level of complexity for higher level clients.
He/she may also perform duties that include any of the following:
tax prep, complex professional write-up work, audit support work, direct client consulting, and other special projects as assigned.
This position has a high level of client contact and responsibility for delivery goals being met.
In addition, he/she may supervise a CAS Accounting Specialist team for day-to-day management.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

NonexemptRequirementsRequired Experience and EducationAssociate Degree preferred with 7
years in relevant position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) or comparable experience and background.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Understands clients' needs and is proactive in proposing solutions Prepares financial statements and payroll reports Reconciles bank accounts and researches discrepancies Prepares payroll taxes, sales and other local taxes, personal property taxes Compiles raw data into trial balance format, including recapping cash receipts and disbursements Compiles, prepares, and maintains financial data and records in compliance with established policies and procedures for mid-to-high level clients Performs professional staff level duties, including any of the following:
tax prep, complex professional write-up work, audit support work, direct client consulting, and other special projects Manages client back-office accounting Maintains substantial client contact for effective client service Ensure delivery goals are met by department through process management and inter-departmental communication May supervise a Client Services Specialist team for day-to-day management of scheduling, training, and procedures Research reference materials involving bookkeeping, payroll, and tax questions Performs other duties as assigned Desired Skills, Abilities, and Characteristics Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm and client information Effectively communicate through oral and written means Client service oriented Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism Excellent organizational skills Ability to use office equipment including a computer, copier, printer, and fax machine Ability to demonstrate confidence and good judgment when interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and clients Ability to work well with others Work EnvironmentAdams Brown, LLC promotes a flexible work environment with a deep commitment to technology and modern work arrangements.
